1. DJ Employees vs. Independent Contractors -
DJ Companies that use employees have a bigger stake and responsibility
in what they provide to you. Independent Contractors certainly can do
outstanding work, but then they bear responsibility for your event. At
that point the DJ Company is really just a broker.
2. E-commerce - The ability to accept credit cards on-line
without the use of a third party site is critical. This shows
you, the consumer, that this is a legitimate Company that has proven its
business system to a bank, has invested an enormous amount of time and
money to secure there website server and has a on-line security
certificate that is required to run E-commerce a a website. It is
also a binding agreement between you and the DJ Company through your
credit card company. Having a website that has a secure shopping system
means the DJ Company means business!
3. Lights Included On Every Package - Although lights may not be
appropriate for every event, it is a good sign that a DJ Company is
willing to go the extra expense for your event.
4. Phone Answered "Live" In 4 Rings - This indicates that the DJ
Company is Full-time, not a second job or hobby. It means that it is a
DJ Company that is doing the work required, Monday through Friday, to
better serve you. Having direct contact with your DJ Company at your
convenience is helpful to you as you plan your event.
5. A Music Search Engine That Allows You To Compile A Play List. More
Importantly, A Search Engine That Plays Each Song For You To
Listen To Without Connecting To A Third Party Website Trying To
Sell You That Song! - When planning music for an event, it is
critical that you know what the music sounds like in advance. It is also
imperative that you can save your selections to a list on your DJ's
website for safe-keeping. This is a basic part of professional DJ
service that is offered to ease your planning process. If you are in the
dark as to how your event will sound, you are vulnerable to experiencing
your DJ's idea of what good music is, which might be different
from your own. The caterer shows you a menu and let's you taste and
select the food, the photographer shows you his photographic vision, and
your DJ should provide music for you listen to and select from in
addition to helping you to find hard to get songs.
6. On-line Event Planning - Planning an event is not an easy
task. Having an on-line event planning form in which to convey your
thoughts, your event details and order of events is a key aspect to your
planning. Inspiration comes to you at different times, and during those
times, you need access to your event planner. This event planner should
be a savable file that resides on your DJ's website. You can
access and update it as you go, and send it to your other vendors and
event participants.
7. Prices Made Available To The Public - We do not make price
part of the final score each DJ Company receives. Price/Value is
subjective and it is the purpose of DJ Price Checker to allow consumers
to make that judgment for themselves. But we feel it is very
important that a DJ Company posts its prices to the public. Be wary
of any company that is not straightforward with you. You deserve to be
in control and do the shopping;
you shouldn't have to be shopped by a DJ in order to get price information!
